Tokoshi Martial Arts Federation (TMAF) came to be after a group of martial artists grew tired of constantly handing money to various organizations and getting little or nothing in return. The Black Belts who organized TMAF vowed not to become a drain on members pocketbooks. The membership and testing fees associated with TMAF are very reasonable. Seminars and camps are available to members with many expert instructors outside of the Federation brought in. We have hosted some of the best instructors in the world and will continue to do so.
TMAF will not become embroiled in politics and egos. Members are free to run their schools as they see fit. If help is needed all they need to do is ask. The latest business information is available to our members at no cost. TMAF accepts all ranks, styles and systems. We have members from Aikido, Karate, Aikijitsu, Jujitsu, Judo, Gung Fu and other systems. Members can continue training in their current art and have the opportunity to train in others. There are no restrictions on what you want to learn or teach.
Individuals who are under ranked for their time or experience have the opportunity to be ranked by a national organization. The martial arts are constantly evolving. It's necessary to know and use techniques from other martial art styles. TMAF is one of the few organizations that will recognize your present style or rank, and support you in learning, advancing in, or teaching techniques from styles other than your own. TMAF wants to assist the open minded independent thinking martial artists by being a federation that recognizes them, their time in martial arts, the rank, and accomplishments, no matter what styles or techniques they practice or teach. TMAF will provide you with the rank, recognition, freedom and independence you deserve.
Tokoshi Martial Arts Federation is not a "Diploma Mill". However, we will try to help deserving martial artists whenever possible. Our fees are among the lowest in the country. We have two ways to become associated with us:
Charter Membership
The Charter Membership is what most member schools choose. Instructors register their students with TMAF for the nominal fee of $10 yearly. This includes a membership card and patch. Belt test examinations cost Charter Schools $5. Rank advancements for the head instructor are free. Also available is a Life Membership for a ONE TIME fee of $100. We will not hound you to continually upgrade the value of your membership. Business advice is available free. We only give advice. We will not try to run your school or get involved in politics.
Associate Membership
The Associate Membership is a mandatory Life Membership for the instructor. Students are not required to be registered. Rank advancements are $25 per degree. (4th degree is $100, 5th degree is $125, etc.)
