About Defensive Firearms Training Center

Instructors Qualifications & Experience

The primary core instructors of the Defensive Firearms Training Center (DFTC) brings with them an extensive training resume. The instructors at DFTC are capable of delivering professional, high quality firearms and safety training to students at the highest level possible. They are confident that they can prepare virtually any student to safely carry and operate a firearm pursuant to the requirements of Ohio’s “concealed carry law.”

The DFTC instructors have amassed years of combined professional firearms and safety experience.

DFTC Firearm and safety certifications include:

Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission (OPOTC) certified in Revolver, Semi-auto pistol, Shotgun, Semi-auto rifle/Carbine.

Lead firearms instructor for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) and the Division of Parole and Community Services.

Lead Instinctive/Point Shooting Instructor for ODRC, Division of Parole and Community Services.

Certified Smith and Wesson Armorer

Certified Glock Armorer

Certified OPOTC Defensive Tactics Instructor

Certified ODRC, Division of Parole and Community Services OC/Pepper Spray Instructor

Certified ODRC Use of Force Instructor

Certified ODRC, Division of Parole and Community Services Field Tactics Instructor
